As you may be aware, the government is providing 拢150 million per annum for academic years 2013/14 & 2014/15 to provide new, substantial primary school sport funding.
This Sport Premium money is the only current type of funding that is 鈥榬ing fenced鈥�, & is only to be spent on sport & PE provision offered by a school. All schools with primary aged pupils will receive a lump sum of 拢8000 plus a premium of 拢5 per pupil.
With the new Sports Premium funding, Primary schools will be far more accountable for their delivery of Physical Education & sport:
鈥淪chools will be required to include details about their sporting provision on their school website, alongside their curriculum details, so that parents can compare sports provision between schools, both within & beyond the school day鈥�
